Family Day at Copas Fruit Fields, Iver

27 Sep

Yesterday I visited Copas Fruit Fields in Iver with my wife and daughter Errum. We travelled by car and spent a lovely family day picking fresh produce and walking around the farm.

At the moment, strawberries, sweetcorn, French beans, beetroot and spinach are available, although availability can change depending on the day and weather. Many summer fruits such as cherries, raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants and plums are no longer available this late in the season.

One important tip if you are driving: the postcode can take you to the wrong entrance. When your sat-nav says you have arrived, you may need to continue a little further towards Billet Lane and follow the Pick Your Own signs. If you are unsure, ask someone nearby.

There is also a huge sweetcorn field on the opposite side of the road, which is worth checking out during your visit.

Pumpkin picking starts in October, so the farm is still a good family place to visit after the main summer fruit season ends.
